There is something so special about documenting the season before a family changes forever. This beautiful maternity session at White Space Studios in Sandy, Utah celebrated not only a growing baby bump, but also the excitement of two little girls preparing to welcome their baby brother.

Kaitlyn, known online as @honestly.kaitlyn, wanted a maternity session that felt modern, timeless, and editorial while still capturing the genuine connection she shares with her daughters, Harper and Daphne. White Space Studios provided the perfect setting with its clean, bright aesthetic that allowed the focus to remain entirely on the emotion and connection within the images.

For the first portion of the session, Kaitlyn wore a simple white tube-top style bra paired with an oversized white button-up shirt and classic denim. The look felt effortless and elevated, creating the perfect editorial vibe while highlighting her growing bump. The soft natural light and minimalist studio backdrop gave the images a clean, modern feel that will remain timeless for years to come.

Later, she changed into a fitted black dress that beautifully showcased her pregnancy silhouette. The contrast between the bright studio space and the sleek black gown created a striking, sophisticated look that perfectly complemented the editorial style of the session.

While many of the images focused on elegant maternity portraits of Kaitlyn alone, some of the sweetest moments came when Harper and Daphne joined in. One of my favorite parts of the session was watching the girls interact with their mom and future baby brother. They excitedly decorated her belly with stickers, creating playful and authentic moments that perfectly captured the joy and anticipation of this season of life. These candid interactions added so much personality and emotion to the gallery, balancing the editorial portraits with genuine family connection.

One of the things I love most about maternity photography is preserving the emotions that often pass by too quickly. The excitement, anticipation, and curiosity of older siblings are just as important to document as the maternity portraits themselves. Soon Harper and Daphne will officially become big sisters to a baby boy, and these photographs will serve as a reminder of the moments leading up to his arrival.

Whether you're expecting your first baby or adding another little one to your family, maternity sessions are an opportunity to celebrate this chapter before everything changes. Studio maternity sessions offer a timeless and comfortable environment where the focus stays on your connection, your story, and the anticipation of meeting your newest family member.

If you're looking for a Salt Lake City maternity photographer or planning a maternity session at White Space Studios in Sandy, Utah, I'd love to help you create images that feel both beautiful and meaningful.
