Llama Loving
Trey’s family is originally from Peru and his sweet grandmother passed away just a few months before their big day. He talked to me about this colorful and lively culture and I just knew we had to make this a celebration that his grandmother would be proud of! I love that we were able to capture the snowcapped Utah mountains in the background because Trey’s grandmother lived in the Peruvian High Andes as a young girl.

We’re all for those major pops of color in the invitation suite from Lindsay Clement Photo and Design!

Meg + Trey have a very unique story, in that they “matched” on a dating app five years ago, but a relationship never sparked. However, fate intervened and three years later, they happened to be living right across the street from one another. They two went on four dates and then Trey had to head off for a summer job out of state…but that didn’t stop them from falling in love!
Trey invited Meg to fly out to spend time with him for the Fourth of July and after that trip, they decided they probably should get married. Trey popped the question that September and they were married in April of this year! How cute is that?!

How we ADORE that floral crown by Sticks & Stems and the pompom necklace for the llama! Gotta dress for the occasion, right?

The traditional clothing for Andean women includes brightly colorful shawls and vibrantly embroidered dresses with lots of pompoms and tassels. The wedding cake, invitations, table settings, and floral arrangements that I captured all mirror how his family would have dressed during special occasions in Peru.

The flower crown that Meg is wearing even represents a montera which is a traditional headdress that women wear to reflect their social status and the flowers we chose for it are those that identify which village Trey’s grandmother was from. Oh, and those pompom earrings? They’re from Zara Moon Co

Because the celebration wouldn’t be complete with a cake covered in pompoms, right? Well done, Ivory Layers Cakery!

Yep, it’s just as dreamy up close! Who else is in the mood for a trip to Peru?
