Frequently Asked Questions
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?
Fox+ Sloane Photography is typically booked out 3-4 weeks. The best time to book your session is 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure you can get a date that works for you! Weekends book up FAST, leaving more availability for weekdays. If you absolutely need a weekend, try to book 8 weeks out!
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE MY IMAGES?
For portrait sessions, you can expect to see your images within 2 weeks of our shoot. Brides can expect to see their wedding photos 4-6 weeks after their wedding date.
CAN I HAVE A SNEAK PEEK?
I’m thrilled you’re so excited to see your pictures, but I promise you there is nothing like seeing your pictures for the first time. You’ll be much happier waiting for the ‘Grand Reveal’ than with seeing just a few at a time. I love taking your pictures and I know you’ll love seeing them. So, trust me when I say, you’ll be glad you waited.
HOW MANY IMAGES SHOULD I EXPECT?
Portrait sessions include 50- 100 high resolution digital images and duplicates in black and white picked by Fox+ Sloane Photography. Wedding albums will include a couple hundred images, but it truly depends on the amount of time you have me cover your wedding! You can expect 50 images per hour for your wedding with duplicates in black and white chosen by the photographer.
HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES?
You will receive your images in a beautiful gallery via Shootproof. The gallery will be sent to your email address on file and inside the email are instructions on how to access and download your photos. You will be able to download the entire gallery to your computer or individual images to your phone. You also have the option of ordering professional, high quality prints, metals, and canvases directly from your gallery. * Photos must be downloaded to get the high resolution quality. If you don't download, your photos will be blurry!*
HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO ALL OF MY PHOTOS?
Your photos will be live on the Shootproof website for 30 days and then will expire. You can download your images and save them somewhere safe to have forever in that 30 day window. I also keep my clients images backed up to Dropbox in case of an emergency loss of photos which can be accessed for $20.
WHAT IS A PRINT RELEASE?
A print release gives you the right to print the photos wherever you please! Places like Costco require a print release to print your images since Fox+ Sloane Photography owns the copyright. This leaves me with the copyright of the images but gives you permission to print the photos anywhere and any size!
WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND GETTING PHOTOS PRINTED?
Professional printers!!!!! I can't push it enough! With the print release, you can get your images printed anywhere such as Wal mart or Costco, but these companies add different inks to their printers causing your images to change color and lightness, looking much different than what you see on your screen. For true to color images, I highly recommend using a professional printer either locally or online. You can also order professional, true to color prints directly through your gallery on Shootproof.
HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR EDITING STYLE?
My work is often described as authentic, timeless, and "in the moment." I strive to create a warm+ intimate feeling with your photos while keeping them polished and creative. You'll feel happiness and joy with family sessions and romance and connection with couples sessions. I try to capture those frame worthy photos of classic smiles while also getting candid moments that capture the real people and their relationships.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE PICTURES WITH CHILDREN EASIER?
Shooting in warmer months and warmer weather is key! It is hard for children to focus and keep a smile on when they are cold. Bring positive reinforcements to encourage them to keep smiling! One idea I give parents is a sticker chart. They get a sticker every time they listen and smile and once their chart is full, they get a reward. Maybe bribe them with ice cream or a small toy if they do good during their session!
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SHOOT?
GOLDEN HOUR!!! Sunrise or 1-1.5 hours before sunset provides the best lighting. This is when the light is soft and "golden", preventing harsh shadows and very bright whites and highlights. It's also best to keep everyone from squinting those eyes!
HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS AND WHAT DO YOU EDIT?
Lightroom! Lightroom provides me with everything I need to deliver beautiful and memorable images. My editing includes adjusting tones, light, dark, colors and minor touch ups for skin. If you need extensive touch up for skin, you can add it to your session for an additional cost.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
A retainer of $100 is required to reserve your session or 30% to reserve your wedding day. If client herein cancels the photography services for any reason, Fox+ Sloane Photography retains the sum of the retainer without exception. If client needs to reschedule, one reschedule is permitted for emergencies only. In the case of more than one reschedule, a $50 fee will be applied.
